While I am very familiar with some of this artist’s music, I was completely unfamiliar with the music on this record. The tunes are played with a really interesting juxtaposition between written music and improvisation using the musical theme of the first song on the album. So get ready to hear the same tune over and over again without realizing it on Volume 36: Brubeck’s Riddle
