We once again feature a trumpet player with an unmistakable sound. He is among one of the fastest trumpet players I’ve encountered. A common joke was that if a fly landed on his written music, James would play it. He also wrote a good portion of the music on this record. So get ready for a musician who played and arranged for Benny Goodman, and discovered old Blue Eyes in Volume 106: Harry’s Favorites.
